TICKS - LYME DISEASE – AWARENESS!

As we venture out and about with or without our pets we should be aware about the possibility of you or your pets coming into contact with our friend the “tick” and how to spot the disease.
We have a link here from “Lyme disease UK” which gives some very good, informative information on this.

Of course, dogs can be affected by Lyme Disease too if ticks carrying the organism attach to the dog so it is a good idea to check your dog after a walk and learn how to remove ticks safely. Prevention is better than cure so use a product that is effective against ticks. It is always best to get the most informative advice from your veterinary practice as not all products against external parasites such as fleas and lice in dogs are effective against ticks.
