“YPI brings another win too CCST” ~ Mackie Academy Stonehaven

On Tuesday 22nd November 2016, the team of girls from Mackie Academy, Stonehaven won the final of the YPI competition in their school for Therapets! The girls were Molly Lees, Lucy Guest, Sherie Thomson, Rose Martin, Kirstie Lawson, Alex Hartley and Katlin Innes.
The Youth & Philanthropy Initiative, connects schools & charities across Scotland and is managed by The Wood Foundation. Every pupil in S5 had to take part, so even those that didn't make it to the final gained valuable experience of how Charities work, the problems they face and the people they help.
There were 6 teams in the Mackie Academy final, all of whom had worked hard for their chosen charities and spent a lot of time and effort on their Presentation on the night.
The girls in the 'Therapet' team spoke well, with humour, and enthusiasm, whilst giving the large audience a lot of information about Therapets and CCST. They thoroughly deserved the win! Their slide presentation showed Therapets in action in Care homes and at University and their fundraising busking session in an Aberdeen Park.
