November 7, 2016

On Monday night 7th November NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde held their 7th “Celebrating Success Award’s Dinner” at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow.

CCST volunteer Bert Muir was a nominee in the Chairman’s Award category under the “volunteer section”

Bert had managed to get through to the final shortlist of three nominees listed in the evenings programme.

His nomination was compiled by Fiona Sinclair; Volunteer Services Manager - North West Sector & Lead, Art in the Gart.

Part of his nomination read;

"Bert Muir, mental health services volunteer for his commitment and dedication to acute services over the last 11 years accompanied by his Therapet dog (three generations of golden retrievers)."

This is a fantastic recognition of his work in volunteering for CCST through the years. Apart from taking part in the “Paws Against Stress” events Bert visits at Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus, Skye House at Stobhill Hospital and Gartnaval Royal. Presently these visits are undertaken with his two working Therapet’s Golden Retrievers Skye & Kirra
