CCST Spends the day at “The Science Behind the Wag” in Vogrie Park, Edinburgh

CCST volunteers attended the “The Science Behind the Wag” event on 9th October to promote the work the Trust undertakes throughout Scotland. This was part of the Midlothian Science Festival 2016.
Trustees Douglas Ruthven and Simon Young, Area Representative for East Lothian, were on hand to answer questions about the valuable work the trust carries out throughout Scotland and in the local area.
Some young visitors took time out to read to the Therapets present as part of the Trust’s “Reading With Dogs” programme. The youngsters settled down and read a few stories to Therapets Georgie, Jess, Kiera and Ness who listed intently to the children reading to them.
The “Reading With Dogs” programme is freely available throughout Scotland mainly for primary and secondary schools to help children with issues surrounding confidence and reading.
A great afternoon’s work promoting CCST. Big thanks to those taking part on the day who included volunteers with their Therapets, Douglas Ruthven with Keira, Simon Young with Ness, Jenny Reaves with Georgie and Lesley Bird (Administrator) with Jess.
