Irvine's top dog! Bonnie is award-winning 'Therapet' of the year.

A BORDER Terrier from Irvine has earned the title of Scotland’s ‘Therapet of the Year 2013’ due to her work with people in care.

Three-year-old Bonnie, a member of Kirk Dog Training Club at St Andrew’s Church, was presented with her award, along with a big bag of dog food by Gary Hollywood (‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’) at Canine Concern Scotland Trust’s annual ceremony last weekend. She was chosen ahead of five other dogs, all nominated for their outstanding work with patients and residents in hospitals, hospitals, nursing homes, special needs schools and other institutions across Scotland.
