Youngest Therapet Volunteer in Perthshire

At 15years old, Rachel Hutchison has become the youngest Therapet Volunteer in Perthshire. Rachel, a pupil at Auchterarder High School, takes her two dogs Paws, a Collie Cross, and Rou, a Jack Russell, to visit residents at the Ruthven Towers Balhousie Care Home in Auchterarder each week, and they receive a warm welcome from the residents and staff. As well as volunteering with the Canine Concern Scotland Trust's Therapet visiting scheme, Rachel is a Young Leader with Auchterarder Rainbows and Brownies, is currently working towards her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and has recently completed a full first aid course.
