THE HISTORY OF CANINE CONCERN SCOTLAND TRUST Marjorie Henley Price was the inspiration behind the creation of CCST in 1988. She was a founding Trustee and Chairman of Trustees from 1988 until ill-health caused her to retire in 2008. Marjorie carried out the administration of CCST and the Therapet Service until 1988 and she developed the Trust's educational programme on responsible dog ownership for schools. Never having had a dog in the early part of her life Marjorie acquired her first dog, Boxer Holly, in 1970 and became interested and active in the showing and breeding of Boxers under the Caldarvan prefix. For a number of years she was Secretary of the Scottish Boxer Club. She became increasingly concerned about the growing hostility to dogs in some quarters and was one of the earliest members of PRO dogs for whom she acted as Chairman of the South of Scotland Branch until the end of 1987. Marjorie has appeared in numerous television and radio programmes arguing on behalf of responsibly owned dogs and for the important place that they have in society. In 2004 she published her book "Sprigs of Holly" in which she recounts her life working with and for dogs. Marjorie was made the first Life President of CCST in 2008.
